Installation
Note: The drive with the installation files will be referred to as drive X: , please substitute this drive letter with the appropriate CD or network drive letter.
Receive the following CD(s) from Web Age Solutions:
- HPUX Patch CD
- WebSphere V5.1 HPUX
- WebSphere V5.1 fixpack 1 HPUX
- WebSphere Network Deployment V5.1 HPUX
- WebSphere Network Deployment V5.1 fixpack 1 HPUX
- DB2 V8.1 EE HPUX
- ASTK for Windows
Setup Steps

- Install the HPUX Patches by using the HPUX Patch Installation Guide which will be inside WA1256-REL_x_x-Supporting.zip and sent to you by email. These patches are required for the WebSphere machines. Perform the patch installation even if you believe the patches are already installed or superceded just to double-check.
- Create a directory software/WebSphere under /.
- Copy the contents of the WebSphere V5.1 HPUX CD to /software/WebSphere.
- Create a directory WebSpherefpk1 under /software.
- Copy the contents of the WebSphere V5.1 fixpack 1 HPUX CD to /software/WebSpherefpk1.
- Create a directory ND under /software.
- Copy the contents of the WebSphere Network Deployment V5.1 HPUX to /software/ND.
- Create a directory NDfpk1 under /software.
- Copy the contents of the “WebSphere Network Deployment V5.1 fixpack 1 HPUX” CD to /software/NDfpk1.
- Create a directory LabFiles under /.
- Untar the LabFile.zip inside the WA1256-REL_x_x-Supporting.zip to the /LabFiles directory
- (Instructor Machine) Unzip the LabFiles.zip inside WA1256-REL_x_x-Supporting.zip to the instructors machine
- (Instructor Machine) Copy the contents of the ASTK for Windows CD to a new folder ASTK under C:/.
- (Instructor Machine) Follow the file ASTKInstall(InstructorInstall).doc inside WA1256-REL_x_x-Supporting.zip for installation of ASTK.
- To save hard drive space, delete the original compressed files after they are extracted.
If you are performing these steps on one machine and imaging the hard drive of that machine to all other machines for the class, perform that step now. Perform the last steps on every machine separately AFTER imaging the machines.
- Make sure all the computers are on a DNS or edit the hosts file of every computer to the <ip of the network computer> hostname of every network computer and then test the connectivity by typing ping hostname of the newtork computer. You can use set_params hostname to change the hostname of your computer in HPUX.
A sample host file for three computers named classroom1, classroom2, classroom3 is below.

- Follow the instructions in the DB2Setup.pdf inside WA1256-REL_x_x-Supporting.zip file for instructions on installing DB2. Be sure to follow all directions including those performed after the DB2 setup GUI is complete.
