Providing Technology Training and Mentoring For Modern Technology Adoption
The overall objective of this course is threefold. First, this course instructs one in many of the day-to-day administration tasks required of an Oracle database administrator. Second, it is one of the course modules that assist in preparation for certification as an Oracle Certified Associated (OCA) database administrator. Finally, it introduces one to many of the administration sub-specialties that one might next pursue. It is increasingly rare for a single database administrator to fulfill all the required responsibilities necessary for management of an enterprise-scale Oracle database installation. Therefore, one may eventually specialize into backup and recovery strategies, database performance tuning, security administration and the like.
This course provides a complete, hands-on introduction to the newest release of Oracle Enterprise Edition. Key features of this product are fully discussed and demonstrated.
This course builds upon the prerequisite introductory volume from the Oracle Database 12c: SQL Expert Series and considers intermediate-level SQL topics such as writing database queries using the SQL-99 syntax and exploiting the power of built-in functions that extend the capabilities of SQL.
The PL/SQL programming language is at the core of most Oracle database applications. This training course will give attention to three fundamental pillars of effective implementation of PL/SQL applications. First, we will explore the advanced features of the language that allow powerful and adaptable database applications to be built. Next, we will discuss performance tuning techniques that allow these applications to run efficiently. Finally, we will consider critical security measures which should be implemented to counter hacker attacks and other security threats.
This course is intended for those who have already learned the basics of the Oracle PL/SQL database programming language and its syntax, and who are now ready to employ the language in the development of database applications. In particular, the focus of this course will be on the use of database-‐resident stored program units such as procedures, functions, packages and database triggers. New features introduced with the Oracle 12c release of the database are also explained and demonstrated.
This course introduces one to Oracle database programming using the PL/SQL programming language. One will learn the syntax, structure and features of the language. This course will also lay the foundation for the entire Oracle PL/SQL programming course series, allowing one to progress from introductory topics to advanced application design and programming and finally onto writing complex high-performance applications.
Learning the SQL language is one of the most basic tasks required for the use of a relational database. SQL proficiency is essential for business users, database developers, database administrators and any other database professional. This course introduces the basics of the SQL language and the Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). One will become acquainted with the differences in the working environment between a traditional on-premise database installation and the Oracle database service cloud-computing platform.
