Providing Technology Training and Mentoring For Modern Technology Adoption
Similar, official info about AS 7 vs. EAP 6: http://www.jboss.org/jbossas/faq
And now EAP is downloadable for free: http://www.jboss.org/jbossas/downloads .
BTW, is it still easier to run a blog site on PHP rather than Java EE 6? No offense, just interested.
Thanks for pointing this out. I’m not sure if I’m crazy about this or not as it adds confusion to the JBoss AS world even more than before. It would be nice if they listed where to get the latest nightly build of JBoss AS on the downloads page.
There is some info on this here but hey seem to be building the JBoss AS 8 stream now.
I’ve never tried to build a blog with either so I couldn’t say. I’m sure there are tons of PHP blog templates so the coding would mostly be done and it would be more about gathering images and editing CSS styles to look the way you want.
I think the power of Java EE is that you have a lot of tools for all kinds of integration that might need to be done with various other systems and applications. Java EE 5/6 has added a lot of simplifying features from the community so now it is easier to do a lot of common things.
