WA1503 Lab Setup Guide
Minimum Hardware Requirements
  • 700Mhz Pentium III
  • 1GB RAM minimum
  • 4 GB Hard Drive Space
  • CD-ROM drive
Minimum Software Requirements
  • Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 2003 or Windows NT Workstation V4.0 (with Service Pack 6a)
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader V4.0
  • IE 6.0 and Mozilla FireFox 2.x (both browsers are required)
  • WinZip 8.0 or higher
  • Apache 2.2*
  • Eclipse WTP 1.5*
  • Tomcat 5.5*
  • MySQL 5.0*
  • Java 1.5*
* - indicates software provided by Web Age Solutions on CD.
Installation

Receive the Supporting zip file by mail from Web Age Solutions.

Receive the WA1503 CD from Web Age Solutions including:
  • Apache 2.2 (apache_2.2.3-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi)*
  • Eclipse WTP 1.5 (wtp-all-in-one-sdk-R-1.5.0-200606281455-win32.zip)*
  • Tomcat 5.5 (apache-tomcat-5.5.20.zip)*
  • MySQL 5.0 (mysql-5.0.24a-win32.zip)*
  • Java 1.5 (jdk-1_5_0_07-windows-i586-p.exe)*

Install and setup the software in the following order (click the software title for installation instructions) :

NOTE: Both Mozilla FireFox 2.x and IE 6.0 must be installed for this course. The students will require both web browsers in order to complete their labs.

  1. Install FireFox 2.x from mozilla.org.

  2. Install IE 6.0 from microsoft.com (if not already present).

  3. Install Apache 2.2

    Click the link Apache 2.2 for installation instructions.

  4. Install Eclipse WTP 1.5

    From the CD, unzip the wtp-all-in-one-sdk-R-1.5.0-200606281455-win32.zip file in C:\ (This will create the C:\eclipse folder)

  5. Install Tomcat 5.5

    From the CD, unzip the apache-tomcat-5.5.20.zip file in C:\ (This will create the C:\apache-tomcat-5.5.20 folder)

  6. Install MySQL 5.0

    Click the link MySQL 5.0.24 for installation instructions.

  7. Install Java 1.5

    Click the link Java1.5 for installation instructions.

  8. Install Supporting zip file.

    Unzip the REL_*_*-Supporting zip file into C:\ (This will create the C:\LabFiles folder)
