Receive the following CD(s) from Web Age
Solutions:
- WebSphere V5.1 AIX
- WebSphere Network Deployment V5.1 AIX
- DB2 V8.1 EE AIX
- ASTK for Windows
- AIX Maintenance patch.
Install the AIX Maintenance patches following the patch installation guide that can be found in the setup zip you received.
Create a directory called software/WebSphere under /.
Copy the contents of the WebSphere V5.1 AIX CD to /software/WebSphere.
Create a directory ND under /software.
Copy the contents of the WebSphere Network Deployment V5.1 AIX CD to /software/ND.
Refer to the
DB2 Setup guide for the DB2 installation. The DB2 setup guide can also be found in the setup zip you received.
Untar the supporting zip to all the machines in the class. Unzip the supporting zip to the instructors machine.
(Instructor Machine) Copy the contents of the ASTK for Windows CD to a new folder ASTK under C:/.

ASTK Setup for installation of ASTK.
Make sure all the computers are on a DNS or edit the hosts file of every computer to the hostname of every network computer and then test the connectivity by typing ping hostname of the network computer.
A sample host file for three computers named classroom1, classroom2, classroom3 is below.
127.0.0.1 localhost classroom1
192.168.1.1 classroom1
192.168.1.2 classroom2
192.168.1.3 classroom3
