WA1174 Lab Setup Guide
Minimum Hardware Requirements
  • 1000Mhz Pentium III
  • 512 MB RAM minimum (1 Gig suggested)
  • 6 GB
  • Network connection (ethernet or token ring card
  • CD-ROM drive
  • Connection to the Internet
Minimum Software Requirements
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader V4.0
  • Netscape 4.7 orIE 5.0
  • IBM DB2 V8.1 Personal Developer Edition*
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server V5.1 *
  • IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer V5.1.1 *
  • WinZip 8.0 or higher
* - indicates software provided by Web Age Solutions on CD.
Installation
Note: The drive with the installation files will be referred to as drive X:, please substitute this drive letter with the appropriate CD or network drive letter.

Receive a Supporting zip file by email from Web Age Solutions.

Receive the following CD(s) from Web Age Solutions:
  • DB2 V8.1 Personal Developer Edition
  • WAS51
  • WSAD5.1.1 (Disk 1,2, and 4)
Install and setup the software in the following order (click the software title for installation instructions) :
  1. Click the link IBM DB2 V8.1 Personal Developer Edition for installation
  2. Click the link IBM WebSphere Application Server V5.1 for installation.
  3. Click the link IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer V5.1.1 for installation.
  4. After following the installation guide for WSAD v5.1.1, install "IBM Agent Controller" from the WSAD v5.1.1 installation Launch Pad. Accept all the default settings.
  5. Install CVS for NT:

    1. Go to http://www.webagesolutions.com/download/cvsnt_1.11.1.3.exe to download CVS 1.11.1.3 (Win32 platform) using the username and password access2. Place the file in the c:\download directory. The file name is cvsnt_1.11.1.3.
    2. Run the executable file. When the InstallShield wizard is launched, click Next.
    3. Click Yes to accept the license agreement.
    4. For the Setup Type, choose Custom. If you choose Typical or Compact, the CVS server won't be installed by default.
    5. Choose the directory where you want CVS to reside.
    6. On the next screen, be sure to check Server Components. Otherwise, only the CVS client will be installed. Click Next.
    7. InstallShield will copy the files to your machine and finish theinstallation. When it's complete, click Finish.
    8. Press okay to ignore the error that the path was not added.
    9. In the windows environment variables add to the end of the path the cvs installation which by default is C:\Program Files\CVS for NT. You can access the environment variables selecting Start->Settings->Control Panel->System->Advanced Tab->Environment Variables button. Under System variables select path and select edit and add to the end of the path ;C:\Program Files\CVS.
