WA1134 Lab Setup Guide
Minimum Hardware Requirements
  • SUN SPARC ULTRA 5 (366 Mhz)
  • 512 MB RAM minimum, 768 MB recommended
  • 10 GB disk space
  • Ethernet or Token Ring card
  • CD-ROM drive
  • Network connectivity to the internet
  • Must have LAN connectivity
Minimum Software Requirements
  • Solaris 8 Operating Enviornment with all the latest patches
  • Netscape 4.7 or higher
  • Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition *
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server v5.0, Standard Edition #
  • IBM WebSphere Deployment Manager v5.0 #
* - indicates software provided by Web Age Solutions on CD. # - indicates software that Web Age Solutions is not permitted to distribute.
Installation

Note: The drive with the installation files will be referred to as drive X: , please substitute this drive letter with the appropriate CD or network drive letter.

Receive the following CD(s) from Web Age Solutions:
  • Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition
If possible, copy the CD images onto the individual student machines. This should be the norm. Our guide should suggest one course of action only to avoid confusion.

Install and setup the software in the following order (click the software title for installation instructions) :

  1. Oracle 9i Installation Guide
  2. Copy the following CDs onto a network drive for the students: WebSphere Application Server v5.0 Advanced Edition and WebSphere Deployment Manager v5.0. If possible, copy the CD images onto the individual student machines.
  3. Unzip the file Lab Files.zip to drive C:
