WA1094 Lab Setup Guide
Minimum Hardware Requirements
  • 500Mhz Pentium III
  • 512 MB RAM minimum
  • 8 GB
  • Network connection (ethernet or token ring card
  • CD-ROM drive
Minimum Software Requirements
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 SP3. (Important: Windows 2003 or Windows XP is not supported.)
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader V4.0
  • Netscape 4.7 or IE 5.0
  • IBM DB2 V8.1 EE*
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server V5.1 *
  • IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer 5.1.2 (WSAD)*
  • Microsoft Application Stress Test Tool
  • WinZip 8.0 or higher
* - indicates software provided by Web Age Solutions on CD.
Ghosting or Imaging Information

Not all of the software required by this class support imaging. Only DB2 v8.1 supports ghosting (see the special instruction in the installation document). All the other software must be installed individually on each machine after the image has been replicated to that machine and its host name has been changed.

You can save time by copying the contents of the CDs to temporary folders on the hard drive and then imaging that hard drive. After restoring the image to the other computers and changing the host names, you can then install the software from the temporary folders individually.
Installation
Note: The drive with the installation files will be referred to as drive X:, please substitute this drive letter with the appropriate CD or network drive letter.

Receive a Supporting Zp file by email from Web Age Solutions.

Receive the following CD(s) from Web Age Solutions:
  • DB2 V8.1 EE
  • WebSphere V5.1
  • WSAD 5.1.2(CD1 and CD2)
Install and setup the software in the following order (click the software title for installation instructions) :
  1. Click the link IBM DB2 V8.1 Enterprise Edition for installation.
  2. Click the link IBM WebSphere Application Server V5.1 for installation.
  3. Click the link IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer 5.1.2 for installation.
  4. Download Microsoft Web Application Stress Tool from http://www.webagesolutions.com/download/MSWebStressTool.exe and install it. User name: access2, Password: access2
  5. Extract the WA1094-REL_*_*-Supporting.zip file to the X drive.
