WA1165 Lab Setup Guide
Minimum Hardware Requirements
  • SUN SPARC ULTRA 5 (366 Mhz)
  • 512 MB RAM minimum, 768 MB recommended
  • 10 GB disk space
  • Ethernet or Token Ring card
  • CD-ROM drive
  • Network connectivity to the internet (optional)
  • Must have LAN connectivity
Minimum Software Requirements
  • Solaris 8 Operating Environment with all the latest patches
  • Netscape 4.7 or higher
  • WebLogic Server 8.1 for Solaris *
  • PointBase 4.5 *
* - indicates software provided by Web Age Solutions on CD.
Installation

Note: The drive with the installation files will be referred to as drive X: , please substitute this drive letter with the appropriate CD or network drive letter.

Receive the following CD(s) from Web Age Solutions:
  • WebLogic Server 8.1 for Solaris
  • PointBase 4.5
If possible, copy the CD images onto the individual student machines. This should be the norm. Our guide should suggest one course of action only to avoid confusion.

Install and setup the software in the following order (click the software title for installation instructions) :

  1. Unzip the file Lab Files.zip to drive C:
