WA1143 Lab Setup Guide
Minimum Hardware Requirements
  • 400 MHz CPU
  • 256 MB, 512 MB recommended, RAM
  • 700 MB hard disk space on drive C.
  • CD-ROM drive
  • LAN Adapter
  • Networked
  • Internet Access (strongly recommended)
Minimum Software Requirements
  • Windows 2000 SP2
  • Netscape 4.7 or Internet Explorer 5.0
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader V4.0
  • WinZip 8.0 (downloadable from www.winzip.com)
  • PointBase Server V4.6*
  • WebLogic Server 8.1.1 *
* - indicates software provided by Web Age Solutions on CD.
Installation
Note: The drive with the installation files will be referred to as drive X:, please substitute this drive letter with the appropriate CD or Network drive letter.

Receive the following CD(s) from Web Age Solutions:
  • PointBase V4.6
  • WebLogic 8.1.1
Receive the supporting ZIP file from Web Age Solutions by email.

Uninstall any installation of WebLogic or the JDK already on the system.

Copy the software to the PCs:
  1. Copy pbinstall46ev-win.exe from the PointBase V4.6 CD to c:\download.
  2. Copy server811_win32.exefrom the WebLogic811 CD to c:\download.
  3. Dowload j2sdk1.4.2 from http://www.webagesolutions.com/download/j2sdk-1_4_2_06-windows-i586-p.exe (user: access2, password: access2) to c:\download. Double click on c:\download\j2sdk-1_4_2_06-windows-i586-p.exe and follow the instructions to install.
  4. Extract the supporting zip and move the wlalabs folder to the root c:\ directory.
