This 1 day hands-on/interactive course, designed for the ClearCaseŽ Configuration Manager and/or Release Engineer, provides insight on how to establish an effective SCM development model using Rational ClearCaseŽ, and includes discussions on: Configuration Management Plans, Branching Models, Best Practices & Policies.
Objectives
This one day course is designed to provide ClearCaseŽ Configuration Managers and/or Release Engineers with practical, hands-on knowledge and experience of the commands and operations needed to establish an effective SCM development model using Rational ClearCaseŽ, including:
  • Overview of Software Configuration Management (SCM).
  • Discussion on Configuration Management (CM)Plans.
  • VOB Management, including VOB creation.
  • Details on how to import data into a VOB.
  • Labels: Creation & Application.
  • Branching & Parallel Development techniques.
  • Process & Policy Control using Triggers & Attributes.
Audience
  • Configuration Managers &/or Release Engineers using ClearCaseŽ in a Unix Environment.
  • Prerequisites
  • Successful completion of the following course or an equivalent:
  • ClearCaseŽ "The Basics" - Hands-on / Interactive User Training for the Unix Development Environment
  • A minimum of 6 months of hands-on ClearCase User experience
  • One year experience with Unix or successful completion of a course on Unix Fundamentals.
