WebSphere MQ for Linux, Version 6.0 can run on any of the following platforms:

• x86 platform
• x86-64 platform - AMD64 or Intel EM64T machine architecture
• POWER platform
• zSeries platform - zSeries machine architecture

• The operating system supported by WebSphere MQ for Linux, Version 6.0 as per the WebSphere MQ for Linux Quick Beginnings V6
• TCP/IP support
• WebSphere MQ V6 for Linux (Client must provide the product CD.)

To install WMQ on your machine please follow the installation instructions described in WebSphere MQ for Linux Quick Beginnings Version 6. Download the installation guide.

In the manual follow:

1. Skip Chapter 1. “Migrating from an earlier version”
2. Follow Chapter 2. Installing a WebSphere MQ server. Skip the language components that are irrelevant to your environment (English is the default).
3. Chapter 3. Installing the WebSphere MQ for Linux Client. Follow the “Standard Client” and “Installing the client on the same machine as a server” procedures.

Verify the set up

To verify the WMQ install please follow the verification instructions described in:
