MS5050 Recovering Messaging Servers and Databases Using Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 |
|
|
Module 1, “Recovering Messaging Database" explains how to restore data in various
recovery scenarios. One of the recovery scenarios that you may encounter is the loss of
data on the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Mailbox servers. Data loss can range from
the loss of a single message to the loss of multiple databases, each of which may contain
several thousand mailboxes or public folders. In this module, you will learn how to
recover messaging databases on a Mailbox server.
Module 2: “Preparing for and Recovering from Mailbox Server Failures,” explains how
to prepare for a Mailbox server recovery and recover Mailbox servers. One of the most
serious potential disasters that you may need to resolve is the loss of an Exchange Server
2007 Mailbox server. The recovery process is significantly more complicated when the
entire server, rather than just the data, is lost. In this module, you will learn how to
prepare for and recover from Mailbox servers failures.
Module 3: “Preparing for and Recovering from Non-Mailbox Server Failures,” explains
how to prepare for a non-Mailbox server recovery and recover non-Mailbox servers. In
addition to recovering failed mailbox databases, public folder databases, and Mailbox
servers, you may also need to recover other failed Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007
servers. These servers include servers that are running the Client Access server role, the
Hub Transport server role, the Unified Messaging (UM) server role, and the Edge
Transport server role. In this module, you will learn how to recover Exchange Server
2007 servers that are running these server roles.
