WA1259 Lab Setup Guide
Minimum Hardware Requirements
  • 650 Mhz Pentium III
  • 384 MB RAM minimum, 512 MB recommended
  • 8 GB
  • Network connection (Ethernet or token ring card)
  • CD-ROM drive
  • Connection to the Internet
Minimum Software Requirements
  • Microsoft Windows 2000
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader V6.0
  • Netscape 4.7 or IE 5.0
  • WinZip 8.0 or higher
  • IBM DB2 V8.1 Enterprise Server Edition *
  • J2SDK V 1.4.2 or higher *
  • JBoss-3.2.3.Zip Application Server with tomcat bundle *
  • Eclipse-SDK-3.0 *
  • JBoss-IDE-1.3.0 *
* - indicates software provided by Web Age Solutions on CD.
Installation
Receive the supporting zip file by email from Web Age Solutions.

Receive the following CD from Web Age Solutions:
  • IBM DB2 V8.1 Enterprise Server Edition

Receive the following WA1259 CD from Web Age Solutions which include:

  • J2SDK V 1.4.2 (j2sdk-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p.exe)
  • JBoss-3.2.3 Application Server (jboss-3.2.3.zip)
  • Eclipse-SDK-3.0 (eclipse-SDK-3.0-win32.zip)
  • JBoss-IDE-1.3.0 (org.jboss.ide.eclipse_1.3.30.bin.dist.zip)

Install and setup the software in the following order:

  1. J2SDK V 1.4.2
    1. J2SDK V 1.4.2 1. Copy j2sdk-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p.exe from CD to your local hard drive.
    2. To install J2SDK V 1.4.2 follow the installation and setup instructions as mentioned at the link http://www.webagesolutions.com/install/J2SEV1.4.2_04.rtf.
  2. jboss-3.2.3
    1. Copy jboss-3.2.3.zip from CD to your local hard drive.
    2. Extract the contents of the jboss-3.2.3.zip file to the local hard drive to C:\. The contents will be extracted to c:\ jboss-3.2.3.
  3. IBM DB2 V8.1 Enterprise Server Edition
    1. Click the link IBM DB2 V8.1 Enterprise Server Edition for installation instructions.
    2. Make sure you do the lab as the wasadmin user which is created during the DB2 Setup
  4. Eclipse-SDK-3.0
    1. Copy eclipse-SDK-3.0-win32.zip from CD to your local hard drive.
    2. Extract the contents of the eclipse-SDK-3.0-win32.zip file to the local hard drive to C:\. The content will be extracted to c:\eclipse.
  5. JBoss-IDE-1.3.0
    1. Copy org.jboss.ide.eclipse_1.3.30.bin.dist.zip from CD to you local hard drive.
    2. Extract the files to c:\org.jboss.ide.eclipse_1.3.30.
    3. Click Install JBoss IDE to install JBoss-IDE 1.3.30.
  6. Supporting files.
    1. Extract the content of the supporting zip file to C:\Supporting. This should create C:\Supporting\Struts Support.
