The Architecture Skills Challenge
- Challenge #1 - There are many skilled practitioners of architecture that have never received formal training in the analysis and development of enterprise, business, data, or technology architecture.
- Challenge #2 - Many organizations are faced with an aging population of subject matter experts and no cohesive strategy for mentoring the next generation and facilitating a transfer of knowledge.
- Challenge #3 - Architecture skills are perceived as a mystical art that is rather akin to magic with little or no ability to consistently identify, hire, and/or develop architecture skills within the enterprise.
The Solution - Architecture University
- In response to these challenges, Web Age has crafted an education and mentoring program designed to support organizations of all shapes and sizes in the development of custom architecture education tracks which we describe as 'Architecture University'.
- Architecture University (AU) is a customizable program that enables organizations to build a unique path for the identification, development, and on-going improvement of their architecture practice.
For some of our clients, AU is more of a quick bootcamp to level-set everyone regarding terms, concepts, methodologies, frameworks, and tools. For others, it is a multi-year initiative in the form of a perpetual asset that identifies, qualifies, educates, mentors, and empowers individuals to serve as competent enterprise, solution, domain, software, and technical architects.
WA1921 Enterprise Android Application Development
We are proud to announce the release of our new course WA1921 Enterprise Android Application Development. This course teaches students the architecture, API and techniques to create robust, high performance and appealing applications for the Android devices. While most courses from other vendors focus only on the mobile device, this course also deals with the server side architecture. This makes the class ideal for enterprise class businesses.

Our popular WebSphere Portal classes are being updated for version 7.0. Our five day WebSphere Portal programming class shows how to create portlets using some of the latest standards and techniques. Our five day WebSphere Portal administration class shows how to install and deploy a portal environment including the complex task of creating a clustered portal environment and some of the new features in 7.0 that will help simplify this process. New JDeveloper Courses - WA1884 Introduction to Java using Oracle JDeveloper 11g and WA1938 JavaServer Faces (JSF) Web Application Programming using JDeveloper
To support our clients that use JDeveloper we have recently released these classes. WA1938 uses the various JSF development tools of JDeveloper and shows students how to effectively develop JSF applications, especially those that might require additional library files.
Empowering IT Governance using COBIT
The webinar will discuss the increasing importance and dependence on technology, and shows some of the most important IT challenges. IT Governance is introduced to tackle these challenges and the interactive presentation focuses on finding common ground to start with enterprise wide IT Governance.
The presentation will show examples of the use of frameworks such as COBIT, Risk IT and ISO/IEC 27001 by different organizations and how IT Governance frameworks are recommended by governments and central banks around the world. It will also show how a framework such as COBIT or Val IT helps to achieve positive business outcomes.
