Technical architecture and solution architecture tend to be somewhat mixed at many companies, so if you’re reading this and thinking, wow - those guys are really in the weeds and doing deep systems design stuff - you’d be right, but you might also want to read the solutions architecture page.

Our technical architecture work covers system component structure, message sequencing, and drills all the way down into designing the class hierarchies, persistence mechanisms, and transaction logic that propeller-heads like us get excited about.

If your team isn’t used to this level of design, that’s quite alright.  We are very comfortable collaborating with teams to craft combined artifacts.  We accomplish this through a combination of the following activities:

  • Facilitated discovery workshops with IT and business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Injecting education sessions into the scheduled sessions with technical SMEs to gain a common understanding of technical decisions to be made
  • Heads-down design sessions that produce robust models to detail system activity
  • Facilitated sessions which define the architecture of the system components, interfaces, and supporting infrastructure elements

The end result of all this activity, is a technical architecture specification that defines the work your IT team needs to perform in order to produce a robust technical system that slices, dices, and makes french fries in 30 different ways (or whatever it is that your business needs it to do).
